LEBANON, Mo. -

A second person has died from injuries suffered in a shooting in Laclede County.

Coroner Steve Murrell said 15-year-old Riley Gerber died Saturday morning. Gerber had been in the hospital since he was shot last Tuesday.

Authorities say 65-year-old Matthew Rumbaugh broke into Gerber's home early that morning and shot Gerber in the head. Rumbaugh also allegedly shot and killed Riley's father, Chad Gerber. Officials say Chad Gerber's wife had a protection order issued against Rumbaugh earlier in the year. Rumbaugh pleaded not guilty Wednesday to first-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action. No word on when an additional murder charge might be added.

People close to the family are planning a benefit that will raise money for the Gerbers. It is scheduled for August 23rd at Real Life Church in Lebanon.
